A weekend retreat, or a dinner party, or perhaps nights of dancing are great examples of Fun corporate events.
Some people may think of a corporate event as a picnic, or pizza in the break room. If this is your understanding of Fun corporate events then perhaps you need to go to a real event put on by the company you work for. Now to be fair, a picnic can classify as an event, and a few corporate events I have been to were picnics and they were incredibly fun, however, your employer springing for lunch does not quite qualify as an outing. Perhaps if they rented out a hotel ballroom and put on a themed party, or if the leased out a club for the evening, or a weekend retreat at a resort of some kind that would definitely be a corporate event.
