Magic tricks and prop 48

In a setting of corporate sponsorship, magic tricks, and high revenue from ticket sales within intercollegiate athletics, it becomes very easy to overlook the fact sports programs are an outreach of an educational institution.  The NCAA established proposition 48 to further encourage schools and athletes to consider the educational aspect analogous in playing college sports.  Attention is focused on an athlete drawing substance from their educational experiences rather than only focusing on sports.  Schools must now consider the educational needs of their athletes and encourage this learning process or risk losing talented players to ineligibility.  Proposition 48 is an explicit way in which intercollegiate athletics encourages education within its players.
