The Wrong Kind of Fertilizers Wilted My Plants

We recently had trouble with a bunch of our flowering plants in the flower garden.  The leaves started curling up and the buds began to die off.  I called into a flower radio show and the host asked me if I had been using fertilizers on the garden. I admitted that I had and he said that was probably the problem.  He said that the plant calcium levels had dropped due to the excessive potassium in the fertilizers had done it.  I had to turn around and add lime to the flower garden and within a couple of weeks, I saw a complete turn around of my plants.
