Use a Crate Properly for Training a Puppy
Using a crate to train your dog or puppy can be very useful. In order for your puppy to have a positive association with the crate make sure you are using it correctly. Don’t leave your dog or puppy in the crate for extended periods of time. Other than when confining him in the crate at night for the purposes of housebreaking a puppy, your pet should not be left in there for more than 4 hours at a time. Give him a treat every time he goes in there and also leave special toys or bones for him to chew on.
