What Is A San Francisco Muni Pass?

Transportation systems in many cities offer multi-day passes for tourists and residents alike. San Francisco, for instance, has the San Francisco Muni Pass. “Muni” is short for the “Municipal” in “San Francisco Municipal Railway”, which is the public transit system for this city.

The Muni network consists of 54 bus lines, 17 trolley bus lines, seven light rail lines, three cable car lines, and a heritage streetcar line known as the F Market & Wharves. You can get a Muni pass good for one day, three days or seven days, at $11, $18, and $24, respectively. With this, you can ride the bus, trolleys, and cable cars for free. All you have to do is show it to the driver on the buses and trams, or insert it in the slot by the turnstiles to get into the station for the subway.
